Pakistani prime minister in India to visit shrine

JAIPUR, India (AP) — Pakistani Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf has arrived in India on a daylong private visit to a Muslim shrine.
Indian Foreign Minister Salman Khurshid is hosting a lunch for Ashraf in the western Indian city of Jaipur on Saturday but they are not expected to discuss any bilateral issues.
Later in the day Ashraf will visit the shrine of the Sufi saint, Muinuddin Chishti, in the nearby town of Ajmer. Sufism is a more mystical form of Islam that is practiced in many parts of South Asia.
The visit is the first by a senior Pakistani politician since a spike in violence on the makeshift border that divides the disputed Kashmir region between India and Pakistan.
Three Pakistani soldiers and two Indian soldiers have been killed in the violence.
