The “Rasthari Quran Competition 2025,” organized by Haa Alif Ihavandhoo Council on the island, commenced today.
This competition, which offered participation opportunities to all islands in Haa Alif Atoll, sees a total of 7 islands from the atoll taking part. These are Ihavandhoo, in addition to Molhadhoo, Kelaa, Utheemu, Maarandhoo, Baarah, and Dhidhdhoo.
The opening ceremony for the competition was held this morning. The competition will continue until the 29th of this month.
Participants for this competition were selected by holding auditions in each participating island. To maintain the quality of the competition, Ihavandhoo Council stated that each island was allocated 10 slots.
Ahmed Sabah, President of Ihavandhoo Council, told “Thiladhun” that extensive efforts have been made to ensure this competition proceeds as a comprehensive, high-quality event. He expressed gratitude for the assistance provided by the beloved people of Ihavandhoo and the participating islands in conducting this competition.
A total of 54 students are participating in this competition, and Ihavandhoo has made extensive preparations for it.
The objective of the competition is to instill love for the Holy Quran in the hearts of the people, to foster skill in reciting the Holy Quran, and to create a competitive environment in the field of Quran recitation.
