The decision has been made to officially launch the Raajje Transport Link (RTL) ferry service between N. Atoll and R. Atoll, which are part of Zone 2 under the “Integrated National Public Ferry Network” project. This project is designed to connect the Maldives via a high-speed ferry network.
The service is scheduled to commence on November 30, 2025. The two islands designated to be connected by the RTL network in these two atolls are N. Manadhoo and R. Ungoofaaru. The launch of this service is expected to bring numerous economic and social benefits to the residents of both atolls.
The service will utilize a high-speed ferry with a capacity of 32 passengers. Two seats have been specifically reserved for persons with special needs registered with the National Social Protection Agency (NSPA). Furthermore, these individuals will be able to travel free of charge on this service.
Convenient methods have been arranged for customers to purchase RTL service tickets. Tickets must be purchased through the company’s dedicated website or the RTL Travel App. The RTL Travel App will be available for free download on the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. The service schedules will also be accessible via the website and the app. For further information, customers are advised to call the hotline 1650.
With the inclusion of N. Atoll and R. Atoll, the RTL service is now provided across a total of 12 atolls. These include Haa Alifu (HA.), Haa Dhaalu (HD.), Shaviyani (Sh.) in Zone 1; Noonu (N.), Raa (R.), Baa (B.), Lhaviyani (Lh.) in Zone 2; Thaa (Th.) in Zone 4; Gaafu Alifu (GA.), Gaafu Dhaalu (GD.) in Zone 5; and Gnyaviyani (Gn.), Seenu (S.) Atolls in Zone 6. The company is currently undertaking the necessary work to launch the RTL service in the remaining 8 atolls, as advised by the Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation.
