The special telethon launched by the Maldivian media outlets to provide assistance to Sri Lanka during its ongoing crisis due to Cyclone Ditwah will continue until Monday afternoon.
Public Service Media (PSM) began the telethon at 9 am on Sunday to raise funds for relief efforts in Sri Lanka. The telethon was initially scheduled to conclude at 1 am on Monday. However, organisers have now confirmed that the telethon will continue until 2 pm on Monday.
A total of 37 media outlets from the Maldives are participating in the telethon, with the opportunity remaining open for additional media outlets to join.
The event has raised more than USD 187,000 so far. Donations can be made to Bank of Maldives (BML) accounts as well as to fund boxes placed at the TV Building and various locations across Male’ City.
