Several police officers entered the Hulhumale’ Water Theme Park on Sunday evening and was seen carrying away an unconscious man.
A Sun journalist at the scene reported that four police motorcycles arrived at 21:45, followed shortly by a police car. Officers were later seen exiting the area carrying an unconscious man, who was placed in the police vehicle and taken away.
The area surrounding the water park is known for drug activity and robberies, though police have not yet commented on the incident.
This is not the first time a serious case has occurred in the area. On August 25, a 29-year-old Nepali man's decomposing body was found there. Police said at the time that no suspicious circumstances were identified.
The water theme park was awarded to a Malaysian company in 2017, but construction was never completed. The site remains unused and unmaintained, often drawing concern from nearby residents.
