Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Maldives, His Excellency Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sanad Al-Dosari, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.
The Ambassador was escorted in a traditional ‘Haiykolhu’ cultural procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
The President accepted the Letter of Credence and formally welcomed His Excellency Hamad Mohammed Abdullah Al-Sanad Al-Dosari as the Ambassador of the State of Qatar to the Maldives.
Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed areas of mutual interest, including economic and tourism cooperation, infrastructure development, financial support and investment. The President highlighted his recent visit to Qatar, underscoring the close and brotherly relationship between the two countries. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Qatar were established on 26 May 1984.
