Non-Resident Ambassador of the Dominican Republic presents credentials to the President

Non-Resident Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Maldives, His Excellency Francisco Manuel Comprés Hernández, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu at a ceremony held this morning at the President’s Office.
The Ambassador was escorted in a traditional 'Haiykolhu' cultural procession, accompanied by the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
The President accepted the Letter of Credence and formally welcomed His Excellency Francisco Manuel Comprés Hernández, as the Ambassador of the Dominican Republic to the Maldives.
Following the ceremony, the President and the Ambassador discussed areas of mutual interest, including the environment and blue economy, noting the shared priorities of both nations as Small Island Developing States (SIDS). Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations between the two countries.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and the Dominican Republic were established on 17th March 2010.
