Home Minister Umar Naseer has said that if the Courts determined that a case needed additional investigation, the Police will carry out the investigation.
Speaking to Miadhu, regarding Nazim’s lawyer’s allegation that new evidence had been revealed, Minister Umar said that decision on investigating a new revelation will be made from the Courts. And if the Court determines as such, Police will follow up an investigation into the matter.
Umar said that many questions had been made on the Nazim case and that as the case was in the judicial justice system the decision had to be made by the Court.
“Police will give assistance to Court,”
He added that once the three judicial processes are completed, he hoped that Nazim would get justice.
Nazim’s lawyers have marked that Police had failed to follow up on many issues in the case, such as that of the threatening calls to Nazim prior to his arrest, police action following his arrest and the information Adeeb had obtained regarding Nazim’s residence.
