An Bangladeshi national working at a sewerage installation site in Haa Alif Atoll Hoarafushi، has died while he was in the sea.
Ali Naseer، in charge of Hoarafushi Medical Center، spoke to “Vaguthu Online” over the expats cause of death، stating he was at the time of death attempting to lay down the underwater sewerage pipeline. He died due to drowning.
“Some are reporting he died cause he went down to catch an octopus، but that is absurd، the most probable cause of death is drowning” he said.
According to Ali Naseer، he was discovered at the seabed after، his coworkers had searched the work site area following his disappearance. The Bangladeshi worker was brought to Medical center between 10:45hrs and 11:00hrs. Ali Naseer had further noted the deceased worker is now currently being transported to Male’ for autopsy.
Police Media Official، spoke with “Vaguthu Online”، stating Hoarafushi police station received distress report of a foreign expat drowning around 11:15hrs.
