Maldives Airports Company Limited’s (MACL) General Manager – Corporate Communications, Hassan Areef, has stated that Velana International Airport’s VIP Terminal saw 300 jet landings in December.
Areef said that a large number of jet landings were recorded this year, compared to that of last year.
He also described it as a significant feat achieved considering the obstructions posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Whilst many wealthy people travel to the Maldives for the Christmas and new year holidays – the number of individuals arriving in their private jets has increased recently.
In December, Maafaru International Airport also saw 136 jet landings.
