President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, has sent a formal message of congratulations to the Right Honourable Louise Arbour following her assumption of office as the 31st Governor General and Commander-in-Chief of Canada.
In his message, President Muizzu extended warm congratulations on behalf of the government and the people of the Maldives as Governor General Arbour assumed the responsibilities of her high office.
The President expressed confidence that Canada would continue to prosper and uphold its enduring values during her tenure as the Queen's representative in Canada.
The President also expressed his hope that the longstanding friendship and cooperation between the Maldives and Canada would continue to strengthen, bringing greater mutual benefit to both countries and their peoples. He noted the importance of maintaining and deepening the bilateral relations that have characterised the diplomatic ties between the two nations.
Concluding his message, President Muizzu extended his personal best wishes for Governor General Arbour's good health and wellbeing, as well as for the continued peace and progress of the people of Canada.
