President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has established a Special Cabinet Committee in response to the ongoing tensions in the Middle East.
In a post on X tonight, the Chief Spokesperson at the President's Office, Heena Waleed, stated that the committee was formed to implement joint measures to address any difficulties Maldivians may face amid the situation.
The committee, constituted this afternoon, comprises the following members:
Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Dr Abdulla Khaleel (Committee Chair)
Ministry of Defence, Mohamed Ghassan Maumoon
Ministry of Finance and Planning, Moosa Zameer
Ministry of Economic Development and Trade, Mohamed Saeed
Ministry of Transport and Civil Aviation, Mohamed Ameen
Ministry of Homeland Security and Technology, Ali Ihusaan
Ministry of Tourism and Environment, Thoriq Ibrahim
Ministry of Higher Education, Labour and Skills Development, Dr Ali Haidar Ahmed
Ministry of Islamic Affairs, Dr Mohamed Shaheem Ali Saeed
The Spokesperson further noted that these respective ministries will continuously share all relevant information regarding this matter with the public.
