Proposal for Armed Guards to Protect Pres. Nasheed

The Parliament Committee on National Security has decided to propose Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) assign armed bodyguards for Former President and incumbent Speaker of Parliament Mohamed Nasheed.
The report compiled by the 241 Committee on National Security after the inquiry into the May 6 attack suggested requesting that bodyguards active around former President Nasheed be armed at all times.
The report following the inquiry on the security breach that enabled the attack on May 6 included a total of 45 proposals. Ten of the suggestions involved security for Nasheed. Proposals include 24/7 CCTV monitoring of his residential area, and ensuring the former president's car is a standard armored car.
Over 50 people were summoned to the committee's inquiry into the explosion of an IED attached to a parked motorcycle while Speaker Nasheed exited his car and walk towards his residence on Keneree Magu. The committee's 236-page report included 45 proposals.
Sources claim that the report will be uploaded to the parliament's website after information regarding national security is omitted. The information allegedly mentions the secrets of security and intelligence agencies.
