People’s Majlis member for Fonadhoo electorate and the deputy leader of PPM، Abdul Raheem Abdulla had claimed that ex-President Mohamed Nasheed’s legal counsel lead him to his current situation.
MP Abdul Raheem made his statement on a tweet he posted today.
“While they speak of legal advises and legal affairs، President Nasheed is inn his current situation as he followed their [legal team] advises during his presidential term.”
Ex-President Nasheed has been sentenced to 13 years in prison on terrorism charges for kidnapping Criminal Court Chief Justice Abdulla ‘Gaazee’ Mohamed in 2012.
During the trial، the legal team who represented Nasheed were lead by Hisaan Hussain، the Legal Affairs Secretary during Nasheed’s administration، and Hassan Latheef، the Youth Minister during Nasheed’s administration.
