Island Aviation has also introduced additional policies on carrying power banks onboard Maldivian flights.

The power banks cannot be stored in overhead bins or checked luggage. It must be kept on the passenger, the seat pocket or under the seat.
Charging devices or recharging power banks during the flights are strictly prohibited.
To prevent short circuits or accidental activation, power banks should either be in their original packaging or have their terminals insulated—such as by taping them or storing them in a protective pouch or bag.
Many international airlines have also recently banned inflight use of power banks including Singapore Airlines, Thai Airways, Air Asia, China Airlines and Tiger Taiwan.
