Finance Minister Abdullah Jihad has urged Malaysian authorities to invest and expand financial centers in Maldives to provide Islamic finance services to the region.
Jihad made the appeal speaking to Malaysian stakeholders during his trip to the country, from the 23rd of this month onward.
As part of the trip, Minister Jihad briefed stakeholders in the Government's initiative to create the Maldives as a Islamic finance hub in the region and establish Khazana Maldives.
Minister Jihad and the Finance Ministry delegation is scheduled to arrive in the Maldives later tonight.
