China government agreed to donate Mrf. 249 million (100 million Chinese Yuan) as financial aid to Maldives.
Agreement of 16 million US Dollars donation was signed at Purple Palace in Nanjing City، after official talks between Chinese and Maldives government.
Minister of Foreign Affairs Dunya Maumoon signed on behalf of Maldives government، and Minister of Commerce Gao Hucheng signed for China.
Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon informs that this aid under the Economical and Technical Cooperation agreement with Chinese، and that this aid will be used in various development projects in Maldives.
Chinese President Xi Jinping said that Chinese government will aid Maldives to develop and widen the economy within the country، during the official talks between the two countries on Sunday. He further said that the bonds between two countries will strengthen further، and that Chinese government is always ready to aid Maldives، economically and socially.
Highlighting the long term ties between the two countries، President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom said that bonds between two countries will strengthen and that Maldives accepts the policies and politics of the Chinese Government.
Including President Yameen، Foreign Minister Dunya، Tourism Minister Adeeb، Economic Minister Saeed، Youth Minister Maleeh and Minister at President’s Office Mohamed Shareef attended the official talks.
