President of Maldives، Yameen Abdul Gayoom is scheduled to leave for Saudi Arabia on an official trip this week.
According to reports، President Yameen is expected to meet with Saudi King Salman bin Abdul Azeez Al-Saud during his official visit to the country.
King Salman visited Maldives last year، while he was still crowned Prince، during his visit to Maldives، he had announced to invest a total of USD 1.2 million ( MVR 18.5 million) to enact 10 mosques through out Maldives.
In addition to this King Salman had donated USD 1 million to Vaqf fund and another USD 1.5 million for various health projects.
Last year، President Yameen had sent a letter of condolences to the then Prince Salman over the demise of then King Abdullah bin Abdul Azeez Al-Saood، while Vice President of Maldives Mohamed Jameel Ahmed visited Saudi Arabia for official deliverance of condolences.
