BML ups foreign transaction limit on debit cards to USD 3,000

Bank of Maldives (BML) has upped the foreign transaction limit on debit cards to USD 3,000 monthly.
The change, one of several, in conjunction with the bank’s 43rd anniversary, was announced by BML via a statement on Monday.
In this regard, the bank has increased the foreign transaction limit on debit cards for travel and medical purposes to USD 3,000 monthly. According to the bank, up to USD 3,000 can be used to pay for medical services, hotel and flight bookings.

The bank has also increased foreign transaction limit on debit cards for POS transactions overseas to USD 1,000 monthly.
Customers can begin using these new limits, which are scheduled to come into effect on November 11t,h immediately without needing to apply.
BML last brought changes to foreign transaction limits on debit cards back in July, an increment from USD 250 to USD 500 per month.
The bank had also increased the monthly withdrawal amount for Maldivians residing abroad to USD 750, while the monthly foreign transaction limit on debit cards for students abroad was increased to USD 1,200.
