FDC confirms elevator malfunctions in five Amaan Udhares flats

The Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) has confirmed that the elevators in five Amaan Udhares flats built during the previous MDP administration are experiencing technical problems.
FDC Managing Director Hamdhaan Shakeel told Sun on Wednesday that the former government had procured eight elevators of the FJAR brand, and several of them are now malfunctioning.
The affected elevators are installed in Amaan Udhares blocks 11, 12, 13, 14 and 15.
Hamdhaan said the issues include elevator doors failing to close properly due to malfunctioning door sensors, which are being obstructed by dirt. These sensors are designed to detect movement and prevent the doors from closing when something is in the way.
He said he met with the company responsible for maintaining the elevators on Wednesday and instructed them to resolve the issues promptly.
Some units in the Amaan Udhares flats are already occupied, while others are being handed over rapidly. FDC says it aims to complete the remaining work as soon as possible.
