Maldivian tech professionals and entrepreneurs have been invited to participate in the Artificial Intelligence (AI) Impact Summit to be held in New Delhi next month.
The Indian High Commission in the Maldives hosted a curtain raiser event in Male' to share information about the summit. Minister of State for Homeland Security and Technology Dr Mohamed Kinaanath attended as Guest of Honour, alongside Indian High Commissioner Gopal Baglay and senior officials from Maldivian tech companies.
Speaking at the event, High Commissioner Balasubramanian said the summit reflects India’s growing leadership in AI and technology across the region. He noted that this is the first time the summit is being held in a developing country, with participation expected from over 100 countries, including government officials, tech companies and professionals from various sectors.
Senior executives from major global firms will attend the summit, including Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.

The High Commission said Maldivians interested in attending can apply directly to the High Commission, which will assist with registration and arrangements.
The AI Impact Summit will take place in New Delhi from February 16 to 20.
