Arabiyya School Construction to Conclude Within 18 Months, President Muizzu Affirms

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu announced Saturday that construction of Al Madhrasathul Arabiyyathul Islamiyya (Arabiyya School) is expected to be completed within 18 months. Practical work began in November last year, and the project has been awarded to local contractor Rasheed Carpentry and Construction (RCC).
The contract, according to government officials, was granted to RCC at a price USD 5.38 million lower than the bid initially proposed by the first contractor selected for the project. As foundation work progresses, President Muizzu stated that construction remains on track to conclude by the end of next year.
Reaffirming his commitment to expediting the project, Muizzu stated, "A suitable plot of land has been secured for the construction of Arabiyya School. The project is expected to be completed within one and a half years—do you understand? We will strive to complete the work ahead of schedule."
The Ministry of Education has confirmed that the new Arabiyya School building will feature 42 classrooms, a multipurpose hall, and four lifts, alongside all necessary facilities for a modern educational institution. The updated architectural plans include a 10-storey structure, making it the first school in the country to incorporate underground parking.
