China has thanked Maldives for the priority given to Chinese tourists in Maldives.
In the meeting of the Joint Meeting Mechanism to deal with the issue of safety of Chinese Tourists in the Maldives held at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on Monday, Ambassador Wang Fukang has thanked the government of Maldives for the coordination and cooperation extended in ensuring a safe environment to the Chinese tourists in the Maldives.
Speaking at the meeting, Foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon noted the importance of strengthening tourism cooperation between the Maldives and China. She also noted that the Joint meeting mechanism is an important initiative to exchange ideas to ensure a safe environment for Chinese Tourists during their stay in the Maldives.
The meeting held under the Memorandum of Understanding concluded between the Maldives and China during the visit of President of China Xi Jinping to the Maldives, was attended by senior officials of different institutions of government of Maldives and some owners of the resorts.
