Maldives Police Service, on Monday, revealed that a 17-year-old Maldivian male died as a result of a violent altercation between two groups in Maamendhoo, Gaaf Alif Atoll.
According to the police, the incident was reported at approximately 2210 hours.

The 17-year-old was among the two individuals taken to the Villingili Hospital in Gaaf Alif Atoll for treatment after sustaining sharp force injuries.
The police later revealed that three men, aged 18, 23 and 27, were apprehended over the matter under a court order.
Commissioner of Police Mohamed Hameed stated that further investigation into the matter would be led by the Serious Organised Crime Department of Crime Investigation Command and that a team would be deployed to Maamendhoo on Tuesday.
The commissioner urged the residents of Maamendhoo to offer full cooperation to the police as they conduct the investigation.
