Aishath Muzna, the Deputy Managing Director of State Electric Company (STELCO), has been appointed to the company’s board of directors.
The appointment was announced by the Privatization and Corporatization Board (PCB) on Wednesday morning.
According to the PCB, Muzna replaces Mohamed Amir, who was appointed to STELCO’s board in late 2023.

Muzna, the spouse of Hulhudhoo MP Mohamed Shahid (Shad), the deputy leader of ruling People’s National Congress (PNC)’s parliamentary group, joined STELCO in 2000. She was appointed as the company’s DMD on November 28, 2023.
Muzna has a Bachelor of Accounting and Finance from the University of East London in the UK.
Prior to getting appointed as the DMD, she also served as a company secretary, head of legal department, head of bureau, head of business development department, head of procurement and inventory management department, head of information technology department, and head of corporate and legal affairs department.
