Habeys, one of the Maldives’ most popular Boduberu groups in Maldives, has signed an agreement to promote Sun Siyam Media (SS Media).
The agreement was signed at a ceremony held at SS Media headquarters. SS Media CEO Mohamed Asif (Mondhu) signed on behalf of the company, while Habeys Boduberu Group Managing Director Ali Shifau signed on behalf of the group.
Asif said the partnership would be mutually beneficial and noted the group’s strong reputation and work ethic.
“I hope this relationship will be mutually beneficial. We are ready to do many things beyond what is stated in the agreement. Habeys is a very famous and hardworking group in the Maldives,” Asif said.
Shifau echoed the sentiment, saying Habeys was grateful for the opportunity and ready to go beyond the agreed scope to support SS Media.
“As Mondhu Sir said, SS Media and Habeys will work together in the future on many things that are not in the agreement,” he said.

Under the agreement, Habeys will promote three SS Media platforms, Sun Online, SS TV and Sun Play, using the group’s social media channels. Group members will also wear T‑shirts with the SS Media logo, use loudspeakers to advertise the platforms, and promote the brand through banners and other materials.
In return, SS Media will create a dedicated Habeys channel on Sun Play and broadcast selected Habeys content on Sun Online and SS TV.
SS Media is the media partner of the Central Asian Volleyball Association (CAVA) Women’s Cup, with matches broadcast live on SS TV and Sun Play. Habeys also performed during the tournament.
Founded in 2011, Habeys Drum Group quickly gained popularity among young people. The group, now consisting of 27 members, regularly performs traditional Maldivian music at events both locally and abroad.
