The top 15 contestants of the ‘KD Enterprises Dhidhdhoo Emme Aligadha Thari 1444’ Quran Competition organized by Dhidhdhoo Middle Sports Club have paid a special visit to Ha. Utheemu.
Fifteen contestants, who made it to the second round of the competition, made a special visit to Utheemu yesterday evening. They visited with their parents and senior officials of the Middle Sports Club and competition officials also travelled with them.
Utheemu Council gave a warm welcome to the contestants upon arrival to the Island and council also presented a special gift to the contestants. During the tour, the contestants visited 75 houses in Utheemu and interacted with the residents and distributed special gift packs. 
Moreover, the catering partner of the tournament, Ha. Utheemu Bahaaru Dine organized a breakfast for the contestants. They also presented gift packs to the contestants.
The Middle Sports Club expressed their special gratitude to Utheemu Council and Utheemu Bahaaru Dine for their support during the tour.
The first night of the second round of the tournament is scheduled to be held on the night of March 30. Top 10 performers of the night will be reaching the second night’s show of second round, scheduled to be held on March 31. And from the second night of the second round top 5 contestants will be selected who will be performing in the final of the competition.
According to Middle Sports Club, purposes of the competition are to inculcate love for reciting the Holy Quran in the hearts of the people of island, to revive the art of reciting the Holy Quran in according to Tajweed, encouraging to memorize the Holy Quran, to encourage the developing Qari’s and Hafiz’s. In addition to developing participants who can compete at national and international competitions and since it is the holy month of Ramadan, to increase awareness about the Quran.
The final of the competition is scheduled to be held on the night of April 6 and 7. This is the second edition of ‘Dhidhdhoo Emme Aligadha Thari’ organized by Middle Sports Club.
