Defence Minister Adam Shareef Umar has said that there are some elements within the government who are trying to bring down the government. He made this statement, while speaking at a ceremony held at MNDF Headquarters to mark 28th Victory Day.
Adam Shareef said that since the days when Maldives was a monarchy, there were always a group of people who were against the state said that this always repeats.
Adam Shareef said that the attack of 3rd November was one of the most dangerous attacks the country faced in recent times.
He said that, the people who died on 3rd November 1988 were innocent Maldivians, who we are proud of today. He said that however they were martyrs and martyrs have a great honor in the eyes of god.
Adam Shareef said that Maldivians never supported and never will support traitors. He said that even on 3rd November Maldivian army and the people showed that they will never join hands with traitors.
Adam Shareef urged the soldiers to stay committed to defend the religion and the country like they did all those years ago
