China research team will come on March for second research phase of bridge

Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu states a Chinese research team will arrive on March to initiate the second research phase regarding the Hulhule’-Male’ bridge.
During a news conference held today at the Ministry، to disclose information regarding this year’s scheduled government-led projects as well as to give briefing about the operations and projects carried out in the past 15 months، Minister assured the bridge construction project is proceeding in fast pace.
He also added that President Yameen’s strategic and thoughtful tactics have enhanced and strengthened the friendship between China and Maldives، thus resulting in Maldives excelling in various fields with regards to this.
“First phase of the research has been concluded now and a group of Chinese specialists will arrive sometime this coming March to initiate the second phase of the research as per Ministry” Muizzu said.
He also highlighted that a the project requires meticulous research and paperwork before physical operations are implemented، and thus the research team will carry out preliminary feasibility conceptual works on the project on March and the feasibility studies will be concluded in the upcoming month.
Minister Muizzu noted that once the preliminary feasibility is concluded the bridge construction phase will commence، as well as further cost arrangements will be met to comply going forth with the project.
“Our aim is to assign the bridge construction work to an interested party before this year concludes” he added.
Housing Minister Muizzu had highlighted the various development projects carried out across the nation to the media.
