Police arrest former President Nasheed

Police have taken former President Mohamed Nasheed under arrest following the Court order to produce him in Court.
A special team of Police arrived at Ga. Faresmathoda this morning where Nasheed was at the time, and got him onboard a Police speedboat.
A Police Media Official said that no unrest was created when Nasheed was taken under arrest, and that Nasheed did not attempt to refuse the Police.
Nasheed is accompanied on the speed boat by his aides MP Ilyas Labeeb, Imthiyaz Fahmy and former Housing Minister Aslam.
10:14 - Order has been lost at the parliament following Nasheed's arrest. Three MPs have been named, and the sitting has been disrupted.
The MPs who were named are Galolhu-uthuru MP Eva Abdullah, Hulhuhenveiru MP Reeko Moosa Manik and Hoarafushi MP Ahmed Rasheed.

10:25 - The Police team that arrived in Faresmathoda was wearing masks and helmets, and arrested Nasheed while he was at former Minister Aslam's residence.
Sun Online understands that people of Faresmathoda are protesting against the arrest.

10:36 - It is not yet known where Nasheed will be kept while under arrest. The Police speedboat is currently travelling with Nasheed. Yesterday's order by Hulhumale' Court orders the Police to detain Nasheed in order to produce him in Court tomorrow at 4:00pm.

10:54 - Police have refuted rumours that Aslam, Imthiyaz and Ilyas Labeeb were taken under arrest along with Nasheed. Police said that it was their wish to accompany Nasheed.

11:05 - MDP has said that Nasheed was scheduled to meet the Ambassador of Denmark at 1:00 today.
11:07 - Parliament sitting resumes as the three members whose names were called return to their seats.
11:19 - Nasheed's arrest has caught the attention of foreign media as well. Nasheed will be produced in Court at 4:00pm tomorrow.
11:22 - MDP has announced that MDP members will gather near Parliament building to protest against Nasheed's arrest.
11:39 - Police have released a press statement in relation to Nasheed's arrest:
"Police have taken former President Mohamed Nasheed under arrest, following the order by Hulhumale' Court to detain former President Mohamed Nasheed of G. Keneryge in order to produce him in Court at Justice Building at 16:00 on 9 October. Nasheed was taken under arrest while he was in Gdh. Faresmathoda at around 09:45 this morning. A Police speedboat has departed from Faresmathoda to take Nasheed to Male'."
