Bank of Maldives appoints new Chief Internal Auditor

Bank of Maldives announced on appointing its new Chief Internal Auditor, Mr. Bishwajit Mazumder.
Mr. Mazumder has been working in the financial industry for over 3 decades while the bank notes that he brings over “35 years of experience in internal auditing, business operations and strategic planning.”
Prior to being appointed as BML’s new Chief Internal Auditor, Mr. Mazumder has held chief auditor positions in Afghanistan International Bank, State Bank of Mauritius, and ING Bank Ltd., Bangalore.
Additionally, he has held chief internal auditor positions in Central Bank of Oman, and most recently in Ghazanfar Bank, Kabul.
Speaking about Mr. Mazumder, the bank’s CEO and Managing Director Mr. Tim Sawyer comments, “Bishwajit has extensive experience in internal auditing alongside corporate governance, risk management and compliance spanning over two decades.”
Mr. Mazumder is a Certified Internal Auditor from IIA, USA and a Chartered Accountant (ACA) from ICAI, New Delhi, India.
Additionally, Mr. Mazumder holds an LLB degree from Calcutta University.
