8 Maldivian who were lost at sea has been rescued by MNDF central area coast guard. The 8 people went on a fishing trip near Dhaalu Hulhuvehi.
MNDF said that they received information about the incident around 1450 hours and then a coastguard vessel from Dhaalu Kudahuvadhoo went on the rescue operation. MNDF said that this incident occurred after their fishing boats engine stopped. Because of the engine malfunction the boat drifted away with the tide. They found the boat 2.5 miles away from the initial position.
No one was harmed in this incident.
