President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, on Wednesday, met with Parliament Speaker and former president Mohamed Nasheed.
Held at the presidential residence of Muliaage, the meeting revolved around several topics including Maldives' COVID-19 response as well as the importance of cooperation between the parliament and the government during economic recovery efforts.
The discussion was held amid an ongoing attempt by Speaker Nasheed to secure the dismissal of Minister of Economic Affairs Fayyaz Ismail.
Despite Nasheed raising allegations of corruption, President Solih defended Minister Fayyaz and stated that he found no justification for the motion.
