Maldives will remain committed to strengthening the strategic partnership with India to address common challenges and work for the mutual benefit of its peoples, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu assured Sunday.
President Dr Muizzu on X conveyed his best wishes to the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and President Droupadi Murmu, on the occasion of the 76th Republic Day of India.
In his post, the President said Maldives will always cherish the strong bonds of friendship and cooperation shared with India, which is built on mutual trust, respect, and understanding which he said have withstood the test of time.
“I am committed to strengthening our strategic partnership to address common challenges and work for the mutual benefit of people of both our neighborly nations,” President Dr Muizzu said.
The Republic Day of India is celebrated every January 26th. The Maldives and India established diplomatic relations on 26 July 1965.
