His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu arrived on Sunday in Malaysia on an official visit at the invitation of His Excellency Anwar Ibrahim, Prime Minister of Malaysia. This marks President Dr Muizzu's first official visit to Malaysia.
Upon arrival at Kuala Lumpur International Airport, the President was welcomed by Dr Haji Dzulkefly Ahmad, Minister of Health (Minister-in-Attendance), His Excellency Yubazlan bin Yusof, Chief of Protocol of Malaysia, His Excellency Rozainor bin Ramli, Chief of Ceremony of the Government, Prime Minister's Department, His Excellency Badli Hisham Adam, High Commissioner of Malaysia to the Republic of Maldives, and Her Excellency Dr Mariyam Shabeena Ahmed, High Commissioner of the Republic of Maldives to Malaysia.
The President was accorded an Honour Guard upon his arrival.
President Dr Muizzu is accompanied by a high-level Government delegation during this visit. The President will conclude his visit and return to the Maldives on April 30, 2025.
President Dr Muizzu's visit to Malaysia reflects the close, cordial ties between the two countries. Additionally, given the significant number of Maldivians living in Malaysia for various purposes, one of the key aims of this visit is to enhance collaboration in relevant areas, ensuring easier access to services for Maldivians and addressing their concerns.
