His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has sent a congratulatory message to His Excellency Anthony Albanese, Prime Minister of Australia, on his re-election.
In the message shared on X, President Dr Muizzu extended warm congratulations to Prime Minister Albanese, adding that the election reflected the trust Australians placed in the Prime Minister.
The President concluded his message expressing a desire to work together to strengthen the Maldives-Australia partnership.
Australia and the Maldives collaborate on maritime security, trade, combatting transnational crime and climate change, oceans and environment. Australia’s development cooperation with Maldives is delivered primarily through capacity building partnerships, including direct educational opportunities, sharing Australian expertise in sustainable environmental resource management, and working through UN partners to help strengthen civil society and inclusive governance.
