Gov’t Aims to Complete Gulhifalhu Land Registry Issuance of Gulhifalhu Plots Within Two Months

The government has begun issuing new land registries for the Gulhifalhu residential plots, following a change in plot location due to revisions in the land use plan.
The new land registry handover was initiated by the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Infrastructure on Saturday morning as the government aims to complete the process within the next two months.
Following the land use plan revision, a re-draw was held on 31 May to determine the location of the land plots under the Binveriyaa Scheme as previous allocations were invalidated. The original agreements have now been canceled, and the plots reallocated from a new location.
Deputy Minister of Housing, Construction and Infrastructure Ibrahim Nazeem told PSM News that the registration process is being conducted on an appointment basis, adding that the Ministry is hoping to complete the process within the next two months.
"We strongly urge everyone to arrive at the area about 15 minutes before the appointment time. It is very important to bring the required documents. Otherwise your appointment will be canceled and you will be able to request an appointment after 12:00 am the following day,” he explained.
The land use plan for Gulhifalhu was prepared by the former government without allocating adequate space for essential services. Additionally, some plots are assigned from areas that have not yet been reclaimed. The Gulhifalhu land use plan has now been revised three times.
