International media operators are reporting the news of President Nasheed’s resignation.
It was reported by 569 media operators within one hour of his resignation at 12.58pm local time.
They include renowned media operators such as BBC, CNN, Reuters, Aljazeera, USA Today and Daily Mail.
President Nasheed cited future pressure to Maldives from the outside world due to the current unrest in Male’, as a reason for his resignation.
