President extends condolences following the passing of the former Amir of Qatar

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, following the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, former Amir of the State of Qatar.
In his message, the President expressed profound sorrow upon learning of the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani. He noted that the former Amir's visionary leadership transformed Qatar into a nation of global prominence and that his exemplary statesmanship, wisdom, and steadfast dedication to the progress of his people and the advancement of the wider Arab and Islamic world will be remembered for generations. The President further stated that His Highness's legacy of peace, development, and generosity has left an enduring mark that will continue to inspire future generations.
The President also recalled the former Amir's significant personal contribution to the development of the Maldives, including the launch of Qatar Airways operations in the Maldives and the establishment of key institutions such as Hamad Bin Khalifa Al Thani School and Masjid Al Sheikh Qasim Bin Al Thani, both of which continue to benefit the Maldivian people.
On behalf of the Government and people of the Maldives, the President extended his deepest condolences to His Highness Sheikh Tamim, the Royal Family, and the brotherly people of the State of Qatar during this time of profound grief.
The President concluded his message with a prayer to Almighty Allah to grant the former Amir eternal peace and the highest ranks of Jannah, and to bestow upon His Highness Sheikh Tamim and the Royal Family strength and patience in bearing this great loss.
