The Kulhudhuffushi City Women’s Development Committee (WDC) has announced the completion of the beach huts and joali (traditional woven seats) project, stating that the huts are now ready for official opening.
The WDC confirmed today that the development of the huts and seats is finished and that preparations for the opening ceremony are currently underway.
In addition to the beach hut area, the committee noted that they have installed *joali* seats in various other locations across the island.
The committee also undertook a similar project to install seats throughout the city last year. At the time, the WDC stated that the purpose of placing these joali seats across Kulhudhuffushi City is to provide residents with spaces to sit and relax, promote mental well-being, and strengthen social bonds within the community.
The construction of the beach huts at the Kulhudhuffushi City airport beach area was contracted to “City Garage.”
Through such social initiatives aimed at benefiting the public, the committee members aim to establish environments where residents can enjoy leisure and tranquility within the city.
