First Lady and Chief Guide Sajida Mohamed has met with Niumath Shafeeq, Chairperson of the Asia Pacific Regional Committee of the World Association of Girl Guides and Girl Scouts (WAGGGS).
The meeting was attended by senior members of the Maldives Girl Guides Association and was held at the Official Residence of the President, Mulee-aage.
Discussions focused on ongoing Girl Guide activities and ways to further expand and strengthen the movement in the future. The two sides also discussed various projects planned to broaden the Girl Guide movement in Maldives and enhance the skills and abilities of children.
The Maldives Girl Guides Association conducts a wide range of activities aimed at empowering girls and women. To date, more than 14,000 children from 88 schools have participated in programmes conducted by the association.
