President extends National Day greetings to the Amir and Prime Minister of Qatar

His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended National Day greetings to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Amir of the State of Qatar, and His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the State of Qatar, on the occasion of Qatar’s National Day.
In his letters to the Amir and the Prime Minister, the President conveyed his warmest greetings and best wishes, on behalf of the Government and the people of the Maldives, to the leadership and the brotherly people of Qatar on this joyous occasion. He reaffirmed the Maldives’ steadfast commitment to nurturing and expanding the longstanding friendship that unites the two nations.
The President further emphasised that Qatar is a close and valued development partner of the Maldives, and expressed the Government’s deep appreciation for the strong bonds of friendship, cooperation and people-to-people ties that continue to strengthen bilateral relations. He added that the establishment of the Embassy of the Republic of Maldives in Doha earlier this year marks an important milestone, which will further facilitate and enhance growing engagement across multiple areas of partnership.
President Dr Muizzu also conveyed his best wishes for the good health and well-being of the Amir and the Prime Minister, and for the continued peace, progress and prosperity of the people of Qatar.
Additionally, the President shared his greetings on his official X account, extending felicitations to Qatar’s leadership and people. In his post, he expressed confidence that the excellent relations between the two countries will continue to flourish, and highlighted Qatar’s many contributions that have benefited the Maldivian people in invaluable ways over the years.
Qatar’s National Day is celebrated annually on 18 December.
