Handover of 4,000 FDC flats moved forward to early January

The handover of 4,000 housing units developed by the Fahi Dhiriulhun Corporation (FDC) in Hulhumale’ Phase II has been moved forward.
FDC had earlier said handover of keys for the flats in Amaan Udhares and Amaan Dhoadhi will begin in late January.
Speaking to PSM News, FDC’s Managing Director Hamdhaan Shakeel said the flats have reached completion, with some road works by Male’ Water and Sewerage Company (MWSC) remaining pending. Therefore, the handover timeline has now been revised to complete all handovers by early January, with new handover dates to be announced via the Fahi Portal.
Recipients of flats in Amaan Udhares and Amaan Dhoadhi can now pay their down payments, after which keys will be handed over.
Following public concerns, President Dr Mohamed Muizzu recently reduced down payments and rents for the FDC flats as follows:
Three-bedroom flats: USD 551 down payment; USD 649 monthly rent
Two-bedroom flats: USD 389 down payment; USD 454 monthly rent
With this change, FDC will make adjustments accordingly for prior payments, with any excess down payment already paid at earlier rates to be deducted from monthly rent. Recipients will not have to pay rent for the first three months after receiving keys, though maintenance fees will still apply.
