Independent Institutions Committee of the Parliament has initiated an investigation into Vice-President of the Broadcasting Commission (BroadCom) Mohamed Fazeen.
The committee held meetings on Thursday and yesterday after a case was submitted for their consideration.
Both sessions were conducted behind closed doors due to the sensitive nature of the case, which "involves personal information about two individuals".
According to a commission member, the case is based on allegations of sexual harassment against Fazeen by a female employee of BroadCom.
Fazeen, a former journalist at Raajje TV, was appointed to BroadCom in 2021 and later elected as its Vice-President in January 2023.
Broadcom’s current members include Fazeen, President Safa Shafeeq, Aminath Ameena, Shifla Ibrahim, Aminath Nuzuha, former Ihavandhoo MP Mohamed Abdullah (Muhamma), and Aminath Saraahath Izzat Siddeeq.
