Home Minister Azleen Ahmed have said that, Abdullah Lutfy, the master mind behind the attack on Maldives on November 3rd will be arrested and brought back to Maldives very soon.
Minister made this statement while speaking at a ceremony held at V.Fulidhoo to mark Victory Day.
“We will arrest him and bring him back to Maldives very soon” said the Minister. He also said that Lutfy’s passport has been cancelled and he cannot go anywhere else now.
Lutfy was sentenced to death for his involvement in the attacks. However later it was changed to a life sentence in jail.
According to some sources he is living in Sri Lanka, under his newname “Zaan”.
Lutfy was sent abroad during Mohamed Nasheed’s administration for ‘medical purposes’ but since then he never returned.
