At its announcement today regarding the introduction of 22 sophisticated ATMs capable of handling deposits and payments, Bank of Maldives revealed plans to launch a small number of US Dollar ATMs in the near future.
The Bank’s CEO and Managing Director Andrew Healy said that this service will initially be available at the ground floor of the Bank’s Headquarters in Male’.
“I have talked a lot today about the problem of bank queues in Maldives, including in BML. The introduction of US Dollar ATMs will represent an obvious and important way of tackling those queues and will provide a convenient way to access dollars for our customers. I expect the service to be very popular. Our first dollar ATM will be up and running in our Headquarters building before the end of the year.”
