President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has outlined his vision for the development of B. Kihaadhoo over the next two years, addressing residents as part of his ongoing tour of Baa Atoll.
In his remarks, the President provided updates on the presidential pledges made to the island. He confirmed that the Kihaadhoo School extension project, signed today, will include a new science laboratory and other facilities. Once completed, he said, the upgraded premises would significantly enhance the island’s education sector.
The President also referred to the shore protection project, which was concluded today, but acknowledged that further efforts were required for lasting development. He announced that the 2026 budget would include new measures to address erosion in the island’s northern area. President Dr Muizzu added that additional plans include relocating the powerhouse and constructing new offices for Fenaka.
In the health sector, the President announced that an ambulance would be sourced this year, with an extension to the Health Centre planned for next year. He also announced a separate initiative to develop the football ground, establish a fitness and recreation centre, and create both an outdoor gym and a children’s park within the year.
Earlier today, as part of his visit, the President inaugurated Bank of Maldives ATM services in B. Kihaadhoo.
