Members elected to represent broadcasters and other media have been appointed to the Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission, in accordance with the provisions of the Maldives Media and Broadcasting Act (Act No. 16/2025).
The members were elected to the Commission pursuant to Article 17(2) of the Act and were formally appointed today under Article 21(g) of the same Act.
The appointed members are Abdul Azeez Ibrahim, Sh. Feydhoo, and Zam ath Ahmed Waheed, GDh. Thinadhoo, who will serve as representatives of broadcasters; and Simaha Naseem, GDh. Rathafandhoo, along with Husain Sageef, HDh. Vaikaradhoo, who will serve as representatives of other media sectors.
The Maldives Media and Broadcasting Commission comprises seven members, three of whom are appointed by Parliament and four elected in accordance with the provisions of the Maldives Media and Broadcasting Act.
