Seas remain rough across Maldives

Seas remain rough across the Maldives on Saturday, amid bad weather conditions attributed to the onset of the Iruvai Monsoon.
The Maldives has been experiencing heavy rain and thunderstorms nationwide, with 75.3 millimeters of rainfall recorded on Friday in V. Rakeedhoo.
Maldivian Meteorological Service forecasts that seas will be rough in northern and central parts of the country with waves of four to seven feet, and moderate becoming rough during showers in the south with waves of three to six feet.
The weather agency forecasts northeast/easterly winds at 13 – 23 miles per hour, with gusts of 40 miles per hour during showers in northern and central Maldives, and southwest/westerly winds of 8 – 18 miles per hour in the south.
The weather agency has issued a white alert for heavy rain and thunderstorms with gusts of 40 miles per hour for the area from B. Atoll to Th. Atoll for at least until 04:00 pm.
