President reviews key development priorities with Dhiffushi Island Council, WDC, and institutional heads

President Dr Mohamed Muizzu met with members of the K. Dhiffushi Island Council, the Women’s Development Committee (WDC), and heads of local institutions to discuss the island’s key development priorities. The meeting was held at Dhiffushi Preschool as part of the President’s ongoing tour of Malé Atoll.
During the meeting, council members outlined the island’s main development needs, emphasising the importance of establishing higher secondary education facilities and upgrading the health centre to include X-ray and scanning services, a conference hall, and 24-hour operations. They also requested the extension of water and sewerage services to the industrial area, the construction of an additional mosque, and the development of roads to support local tourism.
The council further highlighted the need for a new police station to strengthen public safety and called for dedicated youth facilities, including a handball court, a volleyball court, and a youth centre.
President Dr Muizzu assured that the concerns raised would be duly addressed. He was accompanied by Cabinet ministers and senior officials from State-Owned Enterprises, who also provided updates on ongoing development projects.
